KACIN General Contractors Expands Smail Acura in Greensburg

PITTSBURGH, September 18, 2003 -- KACIN Contractors recently completed construction of Smail Acura’s 23,400 square-foot Image Dealership on Route 30 in Greensburg. In addition to the Smail Acura project, KACIN’s recent experience in the retail automotive sector consists of building full-service dealerships for Langston Subaru and Watson Chevrolet in Murrysville, Valley Honda in Monroeville, Day Apollo Volkswagen/Day Apollo Subaru in Moon Township.

“This project was one of the most challenging ones that we’ve ever done,” says Jeff Ferris, vice president, KACIN Contractors. “The need to balance Acura’s corporate-specified design requirements with the property’s natural features presented us with challenges that were both formidable and stimulating.”

Among the most difficult aspects of the job was adhering to Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations when filling in a stream on the property that was more than 240 feet long.

KACIN General Contractors manages the construction and renovation of commercial and industrial buildings throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
